LED Strip-to-Strip Quick Connector – 5-Pin, 12 mm, Solderless for RGBW SMD LED Strips

With this five-pin quick connector, two wide 12 mm RGBW bands in SMD design can be joined without soldering. The fifth track is decisive here: besides plus, red, green and blue there is a separate line for white that drives a dedicated white LED element. This true white looks more neutral than a tone mixed from colours and suits everyday light. To connect, the ends are pushed into the housing and it is squeezed with the pliers, while the contact tongues reach through the five conductor tracks. Coupling Wide RGBW Bands Without Soldering

If a gap should remain between two bands, for example across a mitre, the version with 15 cm link cable steps in and transmits all five signals. If you want to wire the connection side individually, the freely configurable version without cable is a good fit. For colour and white an RGBW controller from the LED control range is needed, which switches the four outputs independently; an ordinary dimmer cannot do that. The power comes from a 24V LED power supply that feeds all five channels together. In the living room RGBW shifts the mood from colourful in the evening to bright white while tidying up. In home cinema lighting the white channel provides soft base light, the colours provide atmosphere.

Cutting, Clamping and Profile

Shorten the 12 mm band only at the marked cut points, so none of the five contact points is lost. Push the ends in up to the noticeable stop and close the housing with a calm press of the pliers. If it is about a longer run instead of a coupling, lay an RGBW flat cable with five conductors as cut length. Several branches you arrange clearly with terminals and connector clips. Current, Voltage and Range

Per contact the limit is 6 A; an RGBW SMD at 18 to 19 W per metre stays clearly below it. You estimate the current from watts per metre, length and operating voltage. As operating voltage, 5, 12 or 24 V are possible. The power feed at the start of the band runs over a cable, for example the 5-pin connector with cable. IP20 rules out wet rooms and the outdoor area.
